East London Business Place provides a free face to face support service which sources and matches local suppliers to the purchasing needs of buyers across all industry sectors. Its focus is to work with small to medium enterprises and major buyers to facilitate contract and procurement opportunities in the Thames Gateway.
The East London Business Place is a flagship local procurement project of Canary Wharf Group plc’s Local Business Liaison Office and the East London Business Alliance in partnership with the 5 Borough Partnership (Olympic Host Boroughs) and the Thames Gateway London Partnership. The will incorporate the successful Building East Model that has operated in the boroughs of Barking & Dagenham, Havering and Redbridge over the last three years. Its primary financial support will come from the Mayor of London’s London Development Agency.
Development Team Leader - Circa £35,000 p.a. plus performance bonus of up to £12,000
We are now seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, innovative and commercially aware Development Manager who will be responsible for the supplier development team. Your role will enable small to medium enterprises to participate in the growth economy and supply chain opportunities arising from regeneration development in East London and the Thames Gateway through managing a field sales team.
Working closely with all other parts of the organisation you will take full responsibility for ensuring targets are met from the supplier development team.
You will seek to find ways to continuously improve the quality of the information that we provide to our funders including providing briefing material that will go to raise understanding about the importance of ELBPs contribution to the local business community.
Supplier Development Officer (SDO) - In range of £28,000 to £32,000 per annum (2 posts.)
To maximise the tendering opportunities for local businesses - particularly focusing on SMEs in the Gateway boroughs - to win contracts/purchase orders on construction projects and with corporate buyers in the area. In particular, enabling/empowering SMEs to participate in the growth economy and supply chain opportunities arising from the Olympics and regeneration development in and the Thames Gateway through helping them develop their business towards ‘fitness to supply’.
This is an evolving, lateral thinking role which provides an excellent opportunity to make a difference to the economic growth of East London and the Thames Gateway. Secondment from local business support agencies/organisations will be considered.
